Komodo National Park ticket 2026: the domestic fee and the daily quota
Updated 27 October 2026
The Komodo National Park ticket in 2026 is IDR 50,000 per domestic visitor on a weekday, IDR 75,000 on a weekend or holiday, and IDR 250,000 per international visitor. Entry is capped at 1,000 visitors a day, with 500 a day reported for September to December. No boat fare includes the ticket.
What the regulation sets
The legal base is Government Regulation 36 of 2024. It was signed on 30 September 2024 and has applied since 30 October 2024. It sets the non-tax revenue rates of the forestry ministry, and it lists national park entry tickets by park class, not by park name.
So the Komodo figures come from the park office, as reported at the time. ANTARA gave three of them on 26 October 2024. Domestic visitors pay IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 on a holiday, and foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000. detikBali repeated the same three on 3 November 2024.
The regulation also sets the holiday rate for domestic visitors at 150 percent of the regular one, which is exactly the step from the weekday figure to the holiday one.
How we apply the rates to a group
A few details matter when you turn those rates into a budget.
- Weekend or holiday. The reports say holiday, which covers public holidays and collective leave. We apply the higher domestic rate on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
- Old figures still circulate. Before the 2024 change, foreign visitors paid 150 thousand rupiah on a weekday and 225 thousand on a holiday, per detikBali. One commercial page updated in August 2026 still shows the old weekday figure.
- Activity tickets. ANTARA reported on 31 October 2025 that four activity tariffs were folded into one entry ticket.
- Ranger and pier charges. These are paid on the day and sit outside the ticket.
If a page you are reading quotes a foreign rate below IDR 250,000, it is showing the pre-2024 tariff.
The 2026 visitor quota
Entry to the park is capped. The park office, known as BTNK, says a limit of 1,000 visitors a day has applied since 1 April 2026. ANTARA reported it on 14 April 2026, with 429,509 visits in 2025, 68 percent of them international.
The reason given is carrying capacity, and the capacity figure itself differs by source. Floresa, on 7 April 2026, cites a 2018 study at 366,108 visitors a year. ANTARA cites 378,870 a year from a 2022 study. Floresa also reports a trial from January, when the booking system did not always stop reservations once the cap was reached.
Then the yearly total ran out. CNN Indonesia reported on 29 September 2026 that the 2026 quota of 365,000 visitors a year had been used up since August. A BTNK notice signed on 22 September sets 500 visitors a day for the added quota from September to December. In April the forestry ministry called the yearly figure dynamic, to be reviewed, and said a rise was possible after Padar works this year (ANTARA, 25 April 2026).
For a group, the practical point is simple: the daily cap applies to the date on your ticket, so we fix that date with you before anyone pays.
What it adds to a group's total
The ticket is a line of its own, per person per day, and it sits outside every boat price. On a split it looks like this.
- A domestic guest pays IDR 50,000 on a weekday. At weekends and on public holidays the figure is IDR 75,000.
- An international guest pays IDR 250,000.
- Ranger and pier charges are extra, settled on the day.
A mixed group, say eleven Indonesians and three friends from abroad, pays two different lines. The calculator below multiplies them for 2, 4 and 10 guests. The quote states how many ticketed days your route has.
We price a ticket for every guest in the group, children included.
A saving on the ticket line
For domestic guests the weekday ticket is the cheaper one. The Monday departure runs Monday to Wednesday and the Friday one runs Friday to Sunday, so ask which days on your route are ticketed before you choose.
| Guests | Days | International | Indonesian | Indonesian · weekends & holidays |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 1 | IDR 500,000 | IDR 100,000 | IDR 150,000 |
| 2 | 2 | IDR 1,000,000 | IDR 200,000 | IDR 300,000 |
| 2 | 3 | IDR 1,500,000 | IDR 300,000 | IDR 450,000 |
| 4 | 1 | IDR 1,000,000 | IDR 200,000 | IDR 300,000 |
| 4 | 2 | IDR 2,000,000 | IDR 400,000 | IDR 600,000 |
| 4 | 3 | IDR 3,000,000 | IDR 600,000 | IDR 900,000 |
| 10 | 1 | IDR 2,500,000 | IDR 500,000 | IDR 750,000 |
| 10 | 2 | IDR 5,000,000 | IDR 1,000,000 | IDR 1,500,000 |
| 10 | 3 | IDR 7,500,000 | IDR 1,500,000 | IDR 2,250,000 |
Entry fee only (PP 36/2024). Ranger and pier levies are extra; weekend domestic rate applies on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Verified 27 October 2026.
How the quota changes your travel dates
Tickets are bought for a date, through the park's SiOra app, with non-cash payment. Patrols check both the ticket and the sailing permit.
The acting BTNK head said on 26 September 2026 that people buy a ticket for one day and enter on another. That mismatch is part of why the quota ran out so quickly. The sensible reading for a group is to keep the ticket date and the entry date the same.
So send us two possible dates, not one. A park day can be full while a boat is free, and we check both before you pay. Seat departures leave on Monday & Friday, and a private charter starts on a date we agree with you.
The ticket is never part of the boat fare: the cost is the guests', paid separately on the day. For every group we say which date is printed on it and which amount applies to each guest. Park rules change, so we check them for your date, not last year's.

FAQ
How much is the Komodo park ticket for Indonesians in 2026?
IDR 50,000 per person on a weekday and IDR 75,000 at weekends and on holidays, per the park office's figures reported by ANTARA on 26 October 2024 under PP 36/2024. The ticket is not part of any boat fare, so add it to the split as its own line for each guest.
Is there a daily limit on park visitors?
Yes. The park office has applied a limit of 1,000 visitors a day since 1 April 2026. CNN Indonesia reported on 29 September 2026 that a lower limit of 500 a day applies from September to December. Send us your dates and we check them.
Who pays the park ticket for a group?
Tickets go through the park's SiOra app with non-cash payment. The cost is the guests', paid separately on the day and never part of the boat fare. Before you pay, we tell you the date printed on it and the amount per guest.
Are ranger fees included in the ticket?
No. Ranger and pier charges are extra and settled on the day, separate from the entry ticket. Treat the park ticket as the fixed line in your sum, and ask us for the current ranger and pier line when you book.
