How to book a private phinisi in Labuan Bajo

To book a private phinisi in Labuan Bajo, you pay a 50% deposit to hold the date and the balance 30 days before departure. Send us your head count, days and boat first. We reply with a written quote, and the deposit follows only after that message.
Four steps, from your WhatsApp to the boat
- Step 1, your message. Send the head count, the number of days, the dates you like and the boat you lean toward, or ask us to pick. WhatsApp is the quickest route. Email info@komodoexplorer.com works too.
- Step 2, our written quote. We reply with the boat, the band, the whole-boat total, the share per person and what is not included. Nothing is charged yet.
- Step 3, the deposit. You pay 50% to hold the date. The pickup time is agreed on WhatsApp with the deposit.
- Step 4, the balance. The rest is due 30 days before departure.
The same four steps apply to a seat on a Monday or Friday open trip. For a seat you name the cabin and the date, and the quote is the seat fare per person.

Both payments go to PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia. You can pay by bank transfer in IDR, by a card payment link, by Wise or Revolut, by QRIS, or by PayPal. The payment block below lists every method, with any fee shown before you pay.
The same deposit, balance, refund and child rules apply on Arham Jaya 2, Nusantara Karya and Segara Liveaboard. Children travel free to age 2, and from 3 the full fare applies.
Park tickets are paid separately and sit outside both payments. A domestic guest pays IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 on a weekend. An international guest pays IDR 250,000.

Cancel or move the date
Cancel 60 or more days before departure and 50% of what you paid comes back. From 30 days up to 59 days, 25% comes back. Inside 30 days there is no refund.
Moving a date is not the same as canceling. A move inside the reschedule window costs IDR 500,000, and the table below shows the days. Where you move a date well ahead, the fee does not apply.
A breakdown or a port or park order can stop the boat. Then we put you on a phinisi of equal or higher standard on the same date, free of charge. Or you take a full refund within 14 days.
If we cancel for a reason beyond your control, you get a full refund. Travel insurance is not included, and we recommend it.

How a group of friends collects the money
One name books the boat. Pick whoever in your group is best at chasing replies, and put that name on the quote. We take payment from that one name and do not collect from individuals.
The quote lists the share per person, so the chasing person has a number to send. Ask each friend for the full share plus their park ticket in the same message. That way the ticket is not a second round of asking at the pier.
Keep one shared note in the group chat with three lines: the total, who has paid their deposit share, and who still owes. Update it when the balance falls due.
Collect the deposit shares before you confirm the head count. A group that books for 12 and ends up at 10 pays a higher share than the quote said, so lock the number first.

Quotes and payments come from PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, the booking partner for Arham Jaya 2, Nusantara Karya and Segara Liveaboard. We sell, answer and stand behind your booking. Each boat's crew runs the trip at sea.
It helps to know the split before you pay. We do not own any of the three boats. Our part is the written quote, the payment, the free pickup and the answer when something changes before you sail. The boat's part is the sailing.

Three limits sit on every booking. A private charter leaves out the guide and the documentation. Segara's whole-boat price is on request. The captain decides the order of stops on the day.

FAQ
How much deposit do I pay?
50% of the total, after you have our written quote. The deposit holds the date for your group. It is not charged before that message, and the balance follows later as the rest of the total.
When is the rest due?
30 days before departure. We send the reminder by WhatsApp or email, and the pickup time is agreed on WhatsApp with the deposit. Park tickets are paid separately on the day and are not part of the balance.
Can I move the date?
Yes. Moving a booked date costs IDR 500,000 once you are inside the reschedule window, and a move well ahead of it is free. The table above shows the days. A cancellation is a different rule, with a 50% or 25% refund by notice.
What if the boat cannot sail?
If a breakdown or a port or park order stops the boat, you move to a phinisi of equal or higher standard on the same date, free of charge. Or you take a full refund within 14 days. You choose.
Do children pay?
Children aged 0 to 2 travel free. From 3 the full fare applies. The same rule holds on all three boats, and a child who pays counts toward the 14 guests we take on a boat.
