How many cabins does a phinisi need for 14 people? Five or six, depending on the boat. Arham Jaya 2 has 6, Nusantara Karya 5 and Segara Liveaboard 6 rooms. All three stop at 14 guests, so no cabin count buys you a 15th place.
The three boats carry 17 cabins between them: 6 on Arham Jaya 2, 5 on Nusantara Karya and 6 rooms on Segara Liveaboard. We take up to 14 guests on each boat, and that number does not move.
A cabin count is not a bed count. A Master Cabin Balcony sleeps 2, or 3 with the extra bed. A Private, Deluxe, Superior or Standard room sleeps 2. A Share Cabin or the Sharing Cabin Room sleeps 4 on bunks.
A group bigger than 14 needs two boats. That means two totals, each priced on its own band for the same dates.

If you would rather book cabins than the whole boat, the Monday & Friday departures sell them one at a time. This is the open trip format: per person, 3 days 2 nights, park ticket on top. Seats start at IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169) per person.
On each boat the bunk cabin is the lowest seat and the Master Cabin Balcony the highest. Master and Private cabins are sold to 2 paying guests, bunk cabins from 1. The departures page has the seat table for all three boats, and each boat's cabins-and-fares page prices every cabin.
A seat includes a tour guide and photo and video documentation. A private charter leaves both out.
Both Arham Jaya 2 and Nusantara Karya have two Share Cabins. The first on each boat has two double bunk beds. The second differs. On Arham Jaya 2 it has 4 single bunk beds, which suits four friends who each want their own bed. On Nusantara Karya it has a double bed plus two single bunk beds, so two of the four get a real double.
Segara Liveaboard has one bunk room, the Sharing Cabin Room, with two double queen bunk beds for 4.
The extra bed exists only in the Master Cabin Balconies on Arham Jaya 2 and Nusantara Karya. A third guest there pays IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) per person on a seat. Segara has no extra bed.
Only the bunk rooms sleep four, which is why they carry the lowest fares. The tables below count every bed on each boat.

Arham Jaya 2 gives all 6 of its cabins a private bathroom. Nusantara Karya gives all 5. Segara Liveaboard gives 5 of its 6 rooms one, and the Standard Cabin Room shares a bathroom.
That is 16 private bathrooms for 17 cabins across the fleet.
For a group chat the practical rule is short. If everyone in your group needs a private bathroom, choose Arham Jaya 2 or Nusantara Karya. If one couple does not mind sharing, Segara's Standard Cabin Room has the lowest fare among its double rooms.
Segara's shared bathroom has a patterned tile floor, a toilet and a hand shower.
Twelve is the common group size, so here is how it fills each boat.
One worked row: Arham Jaya 2 for 12 is IDR 44,500,000 (≈ USD 2,730) divided by 12, or IDR 3,710,000 (≈ USD 228) each. The comparison page shows which boat fits which head count.
One way to lower the share. When a group splits into seats, fill a bunk cabin first. It sells from 1 guest, and its bed is the lowest fare on the boat.
A Share Cabin seat on Arham Jaya 2 is IDR 3,350,000 (≈ USD 206). Only at the full 14 guests does the whole boat cost less per head than that seat. On Nusantara Karya the whole boat never costs less per head than the bunk seat, because a full boat buys privacy and your own itinerary, not a lower fare.
Segara's Sharing Cabin Room, at IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169), is the lowest seat of the fleet. Its whole-boat price is on request.
